New alternative routes to be introduced on the North Sea Route

These will help reduce transportation costs and increase delivery speeds.

New transportation routes via the North Sea Route will be introduced for industrial and infrastructure projects to expand opportunities for Russian shipowners. This was reported to TASS by Sergey Arkharov, Business Development Director at Beluga Tec.

'These new routes open up fresh prospects for cargo owners, particularly for transporting equipment to major oil refineries. The "river–sea" scheme allows for efficient delivery of equipment via rivers to the North Sea Route, simplifying the transportation of heavy and oversized cargo,' Arkharov emphasised.

He added that the new routes will significantly reduce travel times and distances, thereby lowering transportation costs and increasing delivery speeds. Such advantages are crucial for large industrial and infrastructure projects requiring reliable and efficient logistics solutions.

Arkharov noted that one of the company's significant achievements was the successful transportation of large, oversized equipment from Murmansk to Nakhodka without disassembly. This direction will continue to develop in the future.

He also mentioned the growth of the 'river–sea' scheme, which enables efficient and prompt delivery of cargo, including heavy and oversized items, to the North Sea Route. This, in turn, will help accelerate infrastructure development and economic growth in the Far East as a whole.
