Yury Trutnev: The emergency rescue centre in Tiksi will ensure safe traffic flow
It will house a local EMERCOM response team.
1 June 2024At a meeting of the Presidium of the State Commission for Arctic Development, the creation of Arctic complex rescue centres was discussed. One of them will open in Tiksi, emphasised Yury Trutnev, Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation and Presidential Plenipotentiary Envoy to the Far Eastern Federal District. This is reported by Ulus.media.
'A full-fledged emergency rescue centre will be built in Tiksi with the Ministry of Emergency Situations personnel's accommodation to ensure safe traffic flow,' Yury Trutnev said.
The meeting considered amendments to the plans for social development of the Arctic constituent entities of the Russian Federation and commitments on cargo traffic in the waters of the North Sea Route.
As noted by the Head of Yakutia Aysen Nikolayev, establishing an emergency rescue centre in Tiksi is related to providing the North Sea Route for escorting ships and strengthening the country's defence capability. The development of the Tiksi-Naiba agglomeration will make it possible to implement the most important industrial projects, and special attention will be paid to improving the quality of life of citizens when developing the master plan.
