The project, implemented by the production enterprise Yamaltorg with the support of the Yamal Government, will create 21 new jobs for northerners and will have the capacity to process 350 tons of fish per year, as reported by the press service of the Government of the Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Area.

The 230 sq m facility will produce semi-finished fish products, dried, salted and smoked fish products, preserves and minced meat. Additionally, there will be a store on the premises where residents and visitors of Novy Urengoy can purchase fresh fish and other locally produced goods. Special display cases with cooling systems and fogging were purchased to maintain the freshness of the fish.

The investment support provided by the regional government is aimed at increasing the production capacities of processing enterprises. This strategic decision will significantly boost the production volume of finished fish products, aiming to double it across the district by 2026. Moreover, this initiative will significantly influence the development of the fishing industry and strengthen the economic potential of the region.
