Four non-nuclear icebreakers are likely to be constructed at Zvezda Shipyard in the Primorsky Territory. During the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF-2024), Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Viktor Yevtukhov announced that these vessels are likely to be built at Zvezda Shipyard, as reported by PortNews agency correspondent.

'Currently, discussions are ongoing among clients and departments about their construction locations, but they will most likely be built exclusively at Zvezda Shipbuilding Complex,' stated the deputy minister.

He noted that for now, transportation vessels for the Arctic can only be constructed at Zvezda.

The Zvezda shipbuilding complex is being established by a consortium led by Rosneft in Bolshoy Kamen, Primorsky Territory. Zvezda is Russia's first major shipyard designed for building ice-class vessels and other marine equipment, capable of handling ships up to 350,000 tons displacement.
