'Even today, the Mi-26 can fly at low temperatures, but it can be improved to make it more adapted to Arctic conditions. We understand what needs to be upgraded in the helicopter to make its operation in the Arctic more convenient', he said.

Boginsky added that the holding is ready to carry out the appropriate modernisation of the helicopter.

The Mi-26 heavy multipurpose transport helicopter is the world's largest mass-produced transport helicopter, with a maximum take-off weight of 56 tons and a payload of 20 tons. The helicopter can carry up to 70 paratroopers or 85 passengers.
