FEDC to participate in the construction of the Naiba seaport in Yakutia
Let us recall that the Tiksi-Naiba agglomeration in Yakutia was included among the 16 key settlements in the Arctic zone of the country, with the aim of supporting the North Sea Route, including for emergency and rescue operations.
5 September 2024Yakutia and the Far East Development Corporation signed a cooperation agreement on the construction of the Naiba seaport during the Eastern Economic Forum 2024. The document was signed by Kirill Bychkov, Prime Minister of Yakutia, and Kirill Kamenev, Deputy Director General of the Far East Development Corporation. This is reported by the press service of the Government of the Republic of Sakha.
The implementation of the project will create over 2 thousand jobs for the residents of the Tiksi-Naiba agglomeration. The new port will include areas for liquid and dry bulk transportation, pumps, fuel tanks and necessary equipment.
'First, we will focus on the construction of basic infrastructure facilities and two berths so that the port can start its work as soon as possible,' Yakutia's prime minister specified.
He said the commissioning of the port will stimulate the development of related industries, including the innovative Kyuchus cluster. This will help extract minerals without carbon. Russia will be able to become a leader in this area and will open new opportunities for the development of the Arctic.
