Andrey Chibis: it is planned to invest over RUB 4 tn in the core agglomerations of the Murmansk Region until 2035
According to the Governor of the Murmansk Region, RUB 6 of private investment are expected for RUB 1 of budget investments.
1 July 2024As part of an operational meeting of the government of the Murmansk Region, the issue of the progress of work on the development of master plans for support settlements in the Arctic zone of the Russian Federation was considered. This is what the press service of the Murmansk regional government reports.
According to Andrey Chibis, Governor of the Murmansk Region, the investment portfolio until 2035 amounts to more than RUB 3 tn. For new projects, it is planned to create a total of over 30 thousand new jobs and invest over RUB 4 tn. Of this, more than RUB 2.9 tn, or 72%, are private investments. The need for budget financing is about RUB 550 bn—RUB 6 of private investment are planned for 1 budget rouble.
'Painstaking work has been going on for almost a year to draw up a detailed plan for the development of all settlements included in the agglomeration. And about 70% of the northerners of the Murmansk Region live there,' says Chibis. 'It is important that this work was not carried out in the quiet of offices or expert platforms. It is based on residents' suggestions, because it is necessary to ensure that the master plans meet all their needs.'
