Yakutia has the highest birth rate in the Far East

In 2022, 11,667 children were born in Yakutia.

At the beginning of 2023, Yakutia's population stood at 996,100 people, the Sakha Times reported, citing YASIA. For the fourth year, the republic ranked seventh in Russia and first in the Far East in terms of birth rate and natural population growth.

'Speaking of numerical achievements, the birth rate for January-November 2022 was 11.8 ppm and the natural increase rate was 3.4 ppm. We are leaders both nationally and in the Far East in these two indicators. The republic's population is also growing dynamically,' said Elena Volkova, Minister of Labour and Social Development of Yakutia, during a meeting of the ministry's board.

Recall that in the past year, 11,667 children were born in Yakutia. In the first 11 months of 2022, 49,383 people arrived in the region.
