The tourist influx to the Murmansk Region could rise by 11% by the end of 2023 compared to last year, totalling approximately 600 thousand tourists. This was reported by TASS, citing a statement from Irina Bulygina, Deputy Chairperson of the Murmansk Region Tourism Committee.

According to the Murmansk Region Tourism Committee, the region saw a tourist influx of 539.4 thousand people in 2022, including 18.4 thousand foreign tourists. 'We anticipate approximately 600,000 tourists by the end of the year,' stated Bulygina.

'The Arctic is a region where a large increase is probably not necessary. This is because the nature here is extremely delicate. While nature recovers much faster in the southern regions, it can take decades in the Arctic,' she added.

Bulygina noted that the price of tours for the current 2023–2024 winter season has risen by about 10% compared to the previous year. 'Despite the increase in prices, people still come here,' she observed.
