The first organised group of children went south from Murmansk

Some of the children received free vouchers as part of the Children of the Arctic programme.

The first organised group of children from the Kola Polar Region went to the children's health centre Medvezhonok located in Kabardinka, a resort settlement on the Black Sea coast between Gelendzhik and Novorossiysk. This was reported by the Murmansk Vestnik.

In the first group of young northerners going on vacation outside the region, there were children whose parents paid 25% of the cost of the voucher, as well as the child's round-trip travel and meals on the way. Some of the children went on vacation this day under the Children of the Arctic federal programme: the vouchers are free of charge, and parents pay only for food on the way.

As reported in the regional Ministry of Education and Science, this year more than 5.5 thousand children will be able to rest outside the region, more than 11.5 thousand—on the territory of the Murmansk Region. About half a billion roubles have been allocated for these purposes from the federal and regional budgets.

At the beginning of the summer health-improvement campaign, 4.7 thousand vouchers were purchased at the expense of the federal and regional budgets: 1.7 thousand vouchers for children with disabilities and in difficult life situations, more than 2 thousand—under the Children of the Arctic programme, about a 1 thousand—with parental surcharge.
