As Governor Alexander Tsybulsky pointed out, one-fifth of Pomorie's investment is invested in the forestry sector today. These are high-priority projects that have emerged as national leaders in the production of fuel pellets, paper and cardboard. The new agreement makes the Arkhangelsk Region a pilot region, where forest management work will be carried out throughout the entire territory of the region at the present stage. This was reported by the VGTRK Pomorie.

Alexander Tsybulsky, Governor of the Arkhangelsk Region, 'In the coming years, for the first time since Soviet times, we will update forest data on an area of 20 mn hectares and create a new most accurate framework for forest use, conservation and reproduction. The results of this work will bring the relevance of forest data in the region to 93% by 2025.'

The Arkhangelsk Region now ranks first in lumber production in the Northwestern Federal District. The Head of the Federal Forestry Agency, Ivan Sovetnikov, highlighted Pomorie's work on logging and timber processing. The region is one of the top three in Russia.

Ivan Sovetnikov, Head of the Federal Forestry Agency, 'The region was able to achieve not only large volumes of logging but also real deep processing of timber. It produces the entire range of forest products and all these products have a high added value.'

As a result of the agreement, a reliable digital database on forest resources in the region will be established.
