Reconstruction of the road to Teriberka in the Murmansk Region is set to be completed in 2024

According to National Geographic, the village is listed among the top 20 best travel destinations.

The reconstruction and major repair of the road leading to the tourist-favourite Teriberka settlement in the Murmansk Region will be completed in 2024. This was reported by TASS.

'In 2022, reconstruction and major repair work began on sections of the road leading to the Teriberka settlement. The completion of asphalt laying, reconstruction of a 10-km stretch (from the 10th to the 20th km) and major repairs of a 15-km stretch (from the 20th to the 35th km) are planned for 2024,' stated the ministry.

According to National Geographic, Teriberka, home to about 1,000 residents, ranks among the top 20 best travel destinations. The settlement gained fame after it was featured in the movie Leviathan, which had its world premiere in 2014 and was released in Russia in early 2015. Teriberka is situated in the Kola District, 120 km away from Murmansk. The settlement used to attract up to 40,000 tourists annually before the pandemic hit.
