Over RUB 3 tn to be allocated for implementation of Arctic master plans
About RUB 2 tn is non-budgetary funding.
4 October 2024Over RUB 3 tn is planned to be allocated for the implementation of master plans for 16 agglomerations in the Arctic zone of the Russian Federation, said Gadzhimagomed Huseynov, First Deputy Minister of the Ministry for the Development of the Russian Far East and Arctic. This was reported by TASS.
'All the master plans have been developed. We have already developed a long-term comprehensive programme for the socio-economic development of these agglomerations. [...] The amount we have allocated now is over RUB 3 tn, of which RUB 1 tn is federal funding,' he said at a meeting of the State Duma Committee for the Development of the Far East and Arctic.
Huseynov noted that about RUB 2 tn is non-budgetary funding. 'This is for infrastructure. And in general, we should attract even more investment in the development of these areas by 2035 if we include direct investment projects,' he explained.
According to him, a feature of Arctic master plans is that they are created around large projects. 'Arctic master plans are slightly different. We create them around large projects. [...] That is, first, there's a large anchor investment project, and development follows from that,' he said.
