Novy Urengoy airport served more than 1 million passengers in 2022

The management of the air harbour in Yamal's gas capital has reported on last year's achievements.

The press service of the governor of the Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Area published statistics on the performance of the gas capital's air harbour at the end of last year. The Yamal-Media writes about it.

In 2022, for instance, for the first time, the airport served more than 1 million people—1,031,640 passengers. The combined weight of cargo and mail transported by aircraft was almost 6,000 tons. During the year, the air hub hosted and serviced airliners from 49 airlines.

In addition, there are new destinations—Gorno-Altaysk, Barnaul, Volgograd and Mineralnye Vody. The most popular destinations were Moscow, Tyumen, Ufa, Novosibirsk, St. Petersburg and Sochi.

At the end of last year, a new passenger terminal was opened in Novy Urengoy and its test operation began. The new passenger terminal is scheduled to be converted to normal operation in the gas capital to coincide with the 100th anniversary of civil aviation.
