An investor will speed up the implementation of the Indiga seaport project in the Nenets Autonomous Area (NAA), the head of the region, Yuri Bezdudny, said in his Telegram channel on Wednesday following a meeting with representatives of the Aeon Corporation. This is reported by TASS.

As the governor's press service explained to TASS, representatives of the Aeon Infrastructure Corporation, the companies Direktsiya Sea Port Indiga and Arctic GEO at the meeting with Bezdudny discussed a cargo transshipment scheme that would be cost-effective at the first stage of the port's creation.

It is planned to establish the port as a terminal operating under the transshipment scheme (the process of transshipment of containers in the port on the way from one vessel to another vessel). For this purpose, in accordance with all administrative procedures, the company has already submitted a package of documents on the creation of a remote terminal with the possibility of organising raid transshipment complexes.

In addition, Aeon Infrastructure Corporation is conducting a licensing programme for prospective ore deposits and liquefied hydrocarbon gas in the zone of attraction of the facilities to meet the challenges of filling the cargo base of the port and the prospective railway. The construction of the Indiga port and the Sosnogorsk–Indiga railway is part of a megaproject that the Nenets Autonomous Area is implementing jointly with the Komi Republic, Rustitan Group, Aeon Infrastructure Corporation and InfraVEB. This also includes the development of the Pizhemskoye deposit in the adjacent region.
