In Komi, reindeer herders to receive subsidies to buy quadrocopters

13 November 2024From 2025, the Ministry for the Development of the Russian Far East and Arctic plans to provide state support for reindeer herding farms in the Republic that carry out traditional economic activities in the Arctic zone for the development of the indigenous minorities of the North. More details about the support measures were provided by the Acting Minister of Agriculture and Consumer Market of the Komi Republic Sergey Yeldin within the report on the state programme. The support will be used to purchase vehicles, aircraft, quadrocopters and build production bases.
For 2025–2027 the support will amount to about RUB 330 mn, including RUB 237 mn at the expense of federal funds.
'Sufficiently significant support for the development of reindeer husbandry will allow to see new worthy results in the traditional economic activity in the near future,' the rapporteur noted.
At the same time, support measures in the form of subsidies for the construction of corrals proved to be unclaimed. The amount will be reallocated to other areas.
