Gastro tourism in Pomorie will be developed through northern cuisine
The Food of Pomors festival became part of a large inter-industry project for tourism development, The Gastronomic Map of Russia.
1 July 2024At a meeting in the government of the Arkhangelsk Region, the results of the White June international festival were discussed. Governor Alexander Tsybulsky assessed the festival as successful but requiring further development. He noted gastronomy as one of the most promising areas. This was reported by Region 22 news agency.
As part of the White June. The Food programme, the Food of Pomors gastro festival was held. It received support from the Tourism and Hospitality Industry national project and became part of a large intersectoral project for tourism development, The Gastronomic Map of Russia. This project brings together chefs, restaurateurs, hoteliers and manufacturers from different regions of the country.
Alexander Tsybulsky emphasised that the participants of the Food of Pomors gastro festival and the head of The Gastronomic Map of Russia project Ekaterina Shapovalova proposed interesting ideas for the development of festivals and the popularisation of Russian cuisine, including northern, Pomor cuisine.
'We discussed the possibility of not limiting ourselves to White June but holding a number of events: for example, Russian Breakfast with the involvement of representatives of the restaurant business, a mono-cod festival with the creation of a thematic reconstruction, training for restaurateurs and through them promoting the culture of local cuisine,' shared head of the region.
