Russia is actively developing contacts with BRICS and SCO countries in the Arctic sphere, and bilateral projects in various sectors are being developed. This was announced in an interview with TASS by Nikolay Korchunov, Ambassador-at-large of the Foreign Ministry of the Russian Federation.

'Contacts with BRICS and SCO countries [on the Arctic] are now actively developing. A number of bilateral projects in areas such as scientific research, logistics, environmental protection, as well as maritime cooperation are being developed,' he said.

He added that there are also discussions on possible energy projects with countries in the East, which have the relevant competencies and interest.
