As part of the support for workers in traditional agricultural sectors, the Chukotka Autonomous Okrug has begun updating its machinery fleet. In the first two months of this year, 35 units of special equipment, including snowmobiles, ATVs, swamp buggies, and a UAZ vehicle, as well as various spare parts for their maintenance, were purchased. The total funding amounted to over RUB 39 mln. This was reported by the press service of the Government of Chukotka Autonomous Area.

Previously, the Fund for the Development of National Culture and Traditional Industries was established in the district to help reindeer herders and marine mammal hunters, as directed by Governor Vladislav Kuznetsov. From this fund, 16 reindeer herding businesses and 8 marine mammal hunting communities will receive support.

Vladislav Kuznetsov also highlighted that "the procurement of specialized machinery is a crucial step not only for maintaining the economic stability of these businesses, but also for preserving Chukotka's unique centuries-old traditions."
