Arkhangelsk Region showcased its investment potential at an international summit in India
Viktor Ikonnikov, Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Arkhangelsk Region, became part of the delegation from the Ministry for Development of the Russian Far East and the Far East Development Corporation.
17 January 2024The tenth Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit took place in Gandhinagar, Gujarat, India. Since 2003, the event has aimed to unite business leaders, investors, corporations, thought leaders, politicians and influencers. This is reported by the Pinezhye portal.
During the session 'Russia — India: Prospects for Cooperation in the Far East and the Arctic,' with Harsh Sanghavi, Minister of Industry, Government of Gujarat in attendance, the investment potential of the Arkhangelsk Region was showcased.
'The partnership between the Arkhangelsk Region and India has spanned over a decade,' noted Viktor Ikonnikov. 'The primary areas of cooperation are shipbuilding and ship repair. Indian companies have also shown interest in expanding partnerships in diamond supply. Furthermore, India has expressed interest in developing cooperation along the North Sea Route.'
During working meetings with the Deputy Minister of Commerce and Industry of India and the Chief Minister of Gujarat, delegates discussed cooperation in the Far East and Arctic, as well as the forestry potential of the Arkhangelsk Region.
