The united Murmansk Arctic University achieves 100% enrolment in its first intake
An additional 700 places were added for new specialties, according to Andrey Chibis, Governor of the Murmansk Region.
19 July 2024The first admissions campaign for the Murmansk Arctic University (MAU), formed in 2023 by merging the region's two largest universities, achieved full enrolment. This included 700 additional places in new specialties, a feat not seen in many years, noted Andrey Chibis, Governor of the Murmansk Region. This was reported by TASS.
'For the first time in years, we have full enrolment, despite increasing student numbers by 700 and adding new specialties after the merger,' Andrey Chibis said.
After merging, MAU joined the Priority 2030 project, implementing three strategic initiatives: Arctic Marine Technologies, Innovative Mining Technologies, and Arctic Bioresources and Biotechnologies. MAU also received over RUB 1.2 bn in additional funding to establish a Coastal Training Centre and upgrade the Maritime Convention Training Centre.
