The macro-territory Russian North and the Arctic, which includes Arkhangelsk, Vologda, Murmansk Regions, and the Republic of Karelia, is identified as one of 12 priority areas in the state program Tourism Development. This information is reported by Pravda Severa.

For each of these areas, Russia's Ministry of Economic Development has proposed creating a tourism growth plan under the Tourism and Hospitality Industry Presidential National Project.

The roadmap for tourism in the Russian North and the Arctic began development in February 2024. It aims to maximize the tourist potential of each region, while maintaining a balance between financial performance and respect for local nature and cultural identity. During a research trip to the Arkhangelsk region, the developers of the roadmap met with representatives of regional departments, municipalities, and the professional community.

Kenozersky National Park, along with the cultural and historical ensemble Solovetsky Islands and the village of Lomonosovo — the birthplace of a great Russian scientist, are key attractions in the region.
