The Governor of the Murmansk Region reported on the results of the Arctic Hectare programme
Over 3,100 plots have been allocated in three years.
2 August 2024More than 3,100 free land plots have been granted in the Murmansk Region over the three years of the Arctic Hectare programme. This was announced by Governor Andrey Chibis in his Telegram channel.
The programme in the region began on 1 August 2021. Since then, 7,300 applications have been submitted, 3,700 people have become participants in the programme, and the area of allocated territories has amounted to 2,730 ha. A total of 27 agglomerations have been created, 14 of which combine more than 50 plots. Local authorities provide assistance to such entities in connecting utilities and creating the necessary infrastructure.
The free land is used for business projects and construction of individual housing. Over three years, 123 programme participants have received a regional subsidy to build their homes in the Arctic. Of these, 92 homes have already been built and 31 are under construction.
