'It's an offer for real romantics,' the agency's official explained. 'Gender, age and marital status of the applicants don't matter. We'll be happy to welcome couples.' This according to a report by Rossiyskaya Gazeta.

The upper monthly salary limit for professionals working in the Arctic is RUB 200 thousand. The press office of the northern Rosgidromet told RG that such high income Is usually achieved by combining multiple jobs. However, the department also stresses that the government provides all employees working at high-latitude weather stations with comprehensive social security benefits.

It should also be noted that many people working in the Arctic earn extra income by renting out their permanent flats.

Currently, the weather stations of the Russian Arctic require a meteorologist to observe the weather, as well as a meteorological technician. Also needed are professionals specialising in observing processes in the free atmosphere — an aerologist and an aerological technician. One of the stations needs a supervisor. Additionally, there is also an opening for a mechanic.
