Novak: Russia counts on new projects with China in LNG and petrochemicals
The Yamal LNG project is already supplying supplies to China, the Deputy Prime Minister noted.
15 November 2024Russia sees prospects for creating new joint LNG and petrochemical projects with Chinese companies, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak said at the SPROUTS Russian-Chinese Forum on mutually beneficial cooperation. This was reported by TASS.
'An important area is the development of joint projects in the field of gas liquefaction and its supply worldwide. We have two major projects—Yamal LNG and Arctic LNG-2, where major Chinese companies are involved. The Yamal LNG project is already supplying supplies to the People's Republic of China,' he said.
'We see here possible new projects that can be implemented jointly both in the field of natural gas liquefaction and oil and gas chemistry,' Novak said.
According to him, Russia and China recently agreed to cooperate on hydrogen production, and there is further potential in this area. 'We have recently agreed with our colleagues from the People's Republic of China that we will develop cooperation in the field of hydrogen production, this is a new area that will potentially be in demand in the future,' the Deputy Prime Minister said.
