Moscow residents had the opportunity to meet Faces of Siberia and the Arctic

The photo exhibition is set up in a passage of Moscow's subway.

1 December 2023

In early December, the Faces of Siberia and the Arctic photo exhibition opened in the passage between the Savelovskaya station of the Serpukhovsko-Timiryazevskaya and BKL lines of the Moscow Metro.

The exhibition allows both residents and guests of the capital to explore the unique culture of the Arctic's indigenous peoples — the Evenks, Koryaki and Yukaghirs. The photographs capture the daily life, traditional games and household items of the tundra inhabitants. The exhibition will be open until December 25, 2023.

The photos were sourced from the expedition archive of the Children of the Arctic cultural and educational project. Every year, specialists from this project travel to remote Arctic regions to create indigenous language courses and produce educational and popular science videos about life in the Russian Polar Regions. Currently, the project's portal offers free access to educational materials, a series of travel programs, and a children's cartoon titled 'Children of the Arctic.' The aim of the project is to preserve the languages of the indigenous minorities of the North and promote knowledge about the Russian Arctic.
