Karelian leader highlighted the popularity of the Hectare in the Arctic programme in the Segezha district

In 2023, 213 individuals were granted land plots.

From 1 August 2021, under the Hectare in the Arctic programme, 372 positive land grant decisions have been made in the Segezha district, as reported by the head of Karelia, Artur Parfenchikov, during an online meeting on territorial development. This is reported by the rk.karelia portal.

'The Hectare in the Arctic programme has been operational in Segezha district since 1 August 2021. The programme encompasses 545 hectares of land. 372 positive decisions have been made to grant land plots. This initiative is clearly gaining popularity, not just among district residents,' noted Artur Parfenchikov.

In 2023, 213 people received a land plot through the programme, and since the start of 2024, 30 applications have been approved, added Sergey Sedletsky, the Minister of Property and Land Relations of Karelia.

Citizens are building homes, running personal subsidiary farms, engaging in recreational activities, and developing tourism services on the acquired plots.
