During the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF) on 14–17 June, Lenfilm film studio will host an international festival of the peoples of the North and an exhibition of the achievements of Russia's creative industries, with an emphasis on regional and ethnic characteristics. This was reported by TASS, citing the press service of the Roscongress Foundation. The festival's discussion and cultural programme is part of the plan for Russia's chairmanship of the Arctic Council in 2021–2023.

Visitors to the festival will see the work of artists in street art, audiovisual performance artists, directors of ethnic films and representatives of unique handicrafts. 'Particular attention will be paid to the Arctic regions of Russia and the indigenous peoples of the North: their culture, heritage and contemporary rethinking of the traditional creative industries of northern ethnic groups,' says the report.

The forthcoming festival will be the fourth as part of the Soul of Russia project. Previously, similar events were held at the Eastern Economic Forum in 2022, the Civic Initiatives of the Regions of the 60th Parallel International Humanitarian Forum and the Spirit of Fire film debut festival.
