Hydrocarbon production has begun at a new field in Yamal
Around 240 hydrocarbon fields have been discovered in Yamal. About 60 companies, including recognised leaders in the oil and gas industry, are involved in their development.
1 August 2024Gazpromneft-Noyabrskneftegaz has launched commercial development of the Novoye field in the Purovsky district. The complex of works from field development to commissioning took two years, which is 1.5 times faster than the industry average. This was reported by the Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Area regional government's press service.
Three production wells are currently operating at the field. Seven more wells are planned to be drilled by the end of 2024.
'The project has shown that even in the face of fierce competition and challenging economic circumstances, significant progress can be achieved in a short timeframe. Thanks to the proximity to existing infrastructure, efficient solutions and digital tools, we managed to bring the asset into development in just two years,' said Alexey Ogorodov, General Director of Gazpromneft-Noyabrskneftegaz.
