Experimental research aimed at enhancing the load-bearing capacity of pile foundations is being conducted at the Seven Larch Carbon Site

Currently, three phases of the experiment have been scheduled.

The Scientific Centre for Arctic Studies, in collaboration with the Tyumen Industrial University's Department of Construction Production, conducted the second round of full-scale soil tests. The Telegram channel 'Yamal-Arctic' reports this.

The findings will reveal how the bearing capacity of individual piles changes with the installation of seasonal cooling devices nearby.

Preliminary assessments indicate that the bearing capacity of the piles has increased three to fourfold. Data from the third phase of experimental studies in September–October 2024 will be of practical interest, marking the end of the first summer cycle when the foundation temperature peaks and the pile-bearing capacity is at its minimum.

These research outcomes will aid in designing pile foundations for extreme northern conditions.
