Arkhangelsk hosts a conference on bioresources and fisheries in the Arctic

The event will open with a plenary session 'Aquatic Biological Resources. Fisheries and Stock Conservation in the Arctic.'

11 April 2023

As part of Russia's chairmanship of the Arctic Council in 2021–2023, the I Conference on Bioresources and Fisheries in the Arctic will be held in Arkhangelsk on 11–12 May. Representatives of the Ministry for the Development of the Russian Far East and Arctic will participate in the plenary session and other discussion platforms.

The Arctic zone is a strategically important area of the Russian Federation. The research and development of Arctic water reserves, the development of the region's fisheries infrastructure and the training of professional staff are urgent issues that require a comprehensive and coordinated solution.

The conference will provide a platform for dialogue between representatives of government, science and business to develop effective mechanisms on which the development of the Arctic region and the preservation of its ecosystem depend.

Media accreditation is open on pressa@fishcom.ru
