Yamal To Implement Unified Standard for Public Transportation Services

The directive comes from District Governor Dmitry Artyukhov and was announced at the Council of Heads in December of the previous year.

20 February 2024

The document will come into effect on March 1 and will be valid for five years. The modifications will impact all motor transport enterprises in cities and settlements where municipal and inter-municipal routes are serviced. This was reported by the press service of the Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Area government.

The Transport Service Standard touches on primary factors that influence the quality of transport, including the implementation of the Moroshka fare card.

Yamal operates 84 municipal and 10 intermunicipal routes. In 2023, over 16 million city bus rides were made by the residents.

Over a five-year period, 92% of the municipal enterprises' fleet was updated. The majority of city buses currently in service are no more than four years old. 187 of these buses use gas, reducing harmful emissions and supporting the national Ecology project. It is planned to transition all passenger transport in Yamal cities to eco-friendly fuel.

Installation of heated bus stops continues. Over 200 of them have already been installed in Yamal.
