The research ship 'Akademik Lazarev' has completed its comprehensive field geophysical research in the northern part of the Laptev Sea and the East Siberian Sea of the Arctic Ocean. According to reports from RosGeo, these works were conducted as part of the preparation of geological and geophysical materials for the justification of the outer border of the Russian continental shelf in front of the UN Commission.

Favourable ice conditions in the Arctic over the summer of 2020 allowed RosGeo to conduct marine research at high latitudes, working in areas where the ocean surface would normally be covered by ice.

The company has announced that, once the field-work season is over, the specialists at RosGeo will process and interpret the newly-collected data digitally, as well as analyse retrospective seismic data.
