The list of first-category goods, essential for sustaining life in the Arctic and prioritised for delivery, includes fuel, medicines, clothing and food. This draft resolution was published on the Government's portal of normative legal acts. The anti-corruption review of the document will continue until 13 November. The new list of first-category northern supply goods was developed by an expert group, including deputies and senators, and agreed upon with the northern regions. The compiled list includes 157 items, 70 of which are food products.

The expansion of the list of priority goods for northerners is a result of the intensive development of northern territories.

'Previously, most citizens worked in the North on a rotational basis, but now arrangements are being made for permanent residence. Medical and educational institutions will be established. The expansion of the northern supply product list shows that the North is a long-term growth point,' stated Vladimir Gutenev, head of the State Duma Committee on Industry and Trade.
