As per the President's order, a Unity Park Innovative Science and Technology Center (ISTC) will be created in the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Area. The decree required for this project's initiation was signed by Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin. This information was provided by the press service of the Government of the Russian Federation.

The document outlines the primary directions of ISTC operations. This involves the advancement of technologies in energy security, medical research and the development of cutting-edge engineering technologies and materials, tailored to the conditions of the North and Arctic.

The majority of the center's scientific facilities will be situated in Surgut. Surgut State University has been designated as the foundational institution for the creation of the ISTC.

Private and public companies are expected to be drawn to the projects implemented at the center. Those willing to invest in the development of the ISTC will be granted land and infrastructure facilities under preferential terms.

Establishing Unity Park will facilitate the expansion of knowledge-intensive product manufacturing, contribute to the commercialisation of unique technologies and boost investment inflow into the region.
