A 93 m high production workshop has been built at the Belokamenka shipyard in Murmansk. According to the website of the Project Office for Arctic Development (POAD), the giant facility is part of NOVATEK's Offshore Superfacility Construction Yard for the Arctic LNG 2 project.

The yard is used for round-the-clock assembly of LNG production lines, which are installed on gravity-based structures. The new workshop itself is equipped with exclusive Uralmashzavod overhead cranes with a capacity of 50 and 300 tonnes and is used for the final assembly of modules. The workshop can handle a maximum of 15 modules at the same time.

The workshop is already called the lasrgest in Russia. It is 93 m high, 280 m wide and 345 m long. The sliding gate is big enough for modules the size of a 20-storey skyscraper.

A total of 5,000 technicians will work at the shop during the day shift. After the installation on gravity-based structures and commissioning, the assembled modules will be shipped via the North Sea Route to the Utrenneye field on the Gydan Peninsula in the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Area (YNAA).
