The development of the Arctic region is a global matter, and all phases of the plan will be carried out. Maxim Dankin, Director of the Department for the Development of the Arctic Zone of the Russian Federation and Implementation of Infrastructure Projects of the Ministry for the Development of the Russian Far East and Arctic, announced this at the Eastern Economic Forum (EEF), as reported by Izvestia.

He reminded that the primary strategy and state policy principles were ratified by the President in 2020. 'The strategy has been endorsed until 2035. There are three phases of the strategy; until 2024, stages that initiate numerous mechanisms are being executed,' he stressed.

Dankin went on to say that these mechanisms will be updated from 2025 onwards, and they will start working in full, as several tools have already initiated a pilot implementation project.

'For instance, it is associated with the growth of key settlements. The President only issued an order this year, and we are currently compiling this list and by next year, we will have started its formation,' he clarified.

The government will strive to initiate those mechanisms that enhance the living standards of northerners and local inhabitants, Dankin concluded.
