20 January 2023

Students at the Arctic State Institute of Culture and Arts will develop about 10% of the design codes for settlements and cities in Yakutia by 2030. This was reported to Yakutia Daily by the university's press service.

"As part of the Priority 2030 strategic academic leadership programme, ASICA is moving towards project-based learning in its educational activities. For the first time in the country, a Creative Agency has been set up as a structural unit of the university to carry out design projects as part of coursework and graduate qualification works,' said Anna Petrova, head of the Design and Decorative and Applied Arts Department of the Institute.

According to her, the students have already developed design codes for two settlements at the request of the municipalities—Berdigestyakh in the Gorny district and Tit-Ebya in Khangalassky district. As a reminder, the Berdigestyakh settlement design code developed by the Design and Decorative and Applied Arts Department of the Arctic State Institute of Culture and Arts won the prize for best environmental design at the Eige-2022 architectural award.
