Prime Minister Orders the Presentation of the Transport Development Strategy for the Arctic to Russian Government

The Prime Minister of Russia, Mikhail Mishustin, signed a list of orders based on the results of his working trip to the Murmansk Region

The corresponding document has already been published on the website of the Russian Government.

For example, according to this list, the Russian Ministry of Transport, the state corporation Rosatom, and the Ministry for the Development of the Russian Far East will have to present the transport infrastructure development strategy for the Russian Arctic before 31 May 2021. The document must cover the next 10 years.

'Present to the Government of the Russian Government a development strategy for the seaports, airports, and railway infrastructure in the Arctic Zone of the Russian Federation for the period until 2030 and with a further extension until 2035, including for the purpose of increasing transport of exports and transit cargo along the Northern Sea Route', the list of instructions states.

The Ministry for the Development of the Russian Far East is going to design a new federal law project in cooperation with the Ministry of Economic Development. The draft on changes to the Federal Act 'On Federal Support for Business in the Arctic Zone of the Russian Federation' will allow the exclusion of the requirement for small-scale businesses that want to apply for the status of an AZRF resident to invest capital in construction or in upgrading real estate. The corresponding document must be presented before 31 January 2021.

Apart from that, the Government of the Russian Federation will establish a list of economic activities that are not subject to capital investment requirements.
