Preparations have begun in Murmansk Region for the construction of a port for Belarusian cargoes

Russia and Belarus have started preparations for implementing a project to build a multimodal port in the Murmansk Region for the transshipment of Belarusian cargoes. This was announced by the Prime Minister of Belarus, Roman Golovchenko, during talks in Moscow with Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin, as reported by TASS.

'As agreed, we have started preparations for the implementation of the project to build a multimodal port in the Murmansk Region,' he said.

Golovchenko noted that Russia and Belarus are actively collaborating in the transport and logistics sector, and 'significant work has been done to create new logistics using the transport infrastructure of the Russian Federation.' 'We have established product delivery schemes using Russian ports in the northwestern region. We are using the routes of the international North-South corridor,' he added.
