The inaugural strategic session of the Russian North and Arctic project took place in Murmansk. This session was part of the initial analytical phase of developing a tourism scheme. Over 25 representatives from executive bodies, municipalities, the tourism industry and experts from the Murmansk Region participated in the event. This is reported by the press service of the Government of the Murmansk Region.

The Russian North and Arctic tourism scheme is a long-term strategy for the comprehensive development of the Murmansk Region, the Republic of Karelia and the Arkhangelsk and Vologda Regions as a unified tourist destination. The project is being carried out at the behest of the Ministry of Economic Development of Russia as part of the national project 'Tourism and Hospitality Industry.'

'It's crucial that development plans are not only based on external expert assessments but also take into account the experience and views of the region. Following several sessions and extensive research, we are confident that we will have a clear plan for tourism development within the macro-region named "Russian North and Arctic",' highlighted Alexander Eliseev, Chairman of the Murmansk Region Tourism Committee.

'Our goal is to establish a balanced, accessible and effective tourism framework for the Murmansk Region, which will contribute significantly to the national project "Tourism and Hospitality Industry",' noted Ksenia Titova, head of the project office of ProGorod LLC.
