At the meeting of the Public Council of the Arctic Zone of the Russian Federation in Moscow, a draft law from the Komi Republic was discussed. The law proposes changes to the list of territories where citizens can receive a land plot for free use under the Hectare in the Arctic programme. This information is provided by IA Komiinform, citing the press service of the Government of the Komi Republic.

Following the meeting, it was suggested to extend the list by including new territories in the Ust-Tsilemsky district and Vorkuta. The total area of these territories is 1,121 ha. The project has been approved and will soon be presented to the deputies of the State Council of the Komi Republic for consideration.

Let's remember that the Hectare in the Arctic programme has been operational in the Komi Republic since 1 August 2021, in Vorkuta, Usinsk, Inta and Ust-Tsilemsky district.

Since the Hectare in the Arctic programme started, 101 applications have been submitted by 125 applicants, including 11 collective ones. Since the programme's inception, 41 contracts for free use of land plots have been signed. The majority of contracts, 18 in total, were signed in Usinsk, followed by 11 in Inta, 7 in Ust-Tsilma and 5 in Vorkuta.
