For the first time in Russia, Gazprom Neft successfully tested a heavy unmanned helicopter at the Arctic Vostochno-Messoyakhskoye oil and gas condensate field in the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug, the northernmost continental oil field in Russia. According to TASS, it covered 130 kilometres and delivered a 150-kilogramme load.

The test was aimed at confirming the potential of unmanned technology for the operational and safe sustainment of the northern autonomous fields. The project was implemented by specialists of Gazpromneft-Snabzhenie LLC and representatives of the domestic manufacturer of unmanned systems Tiber, as well as by Messoyakhaneftegaz JSC employees.

Gazprom Neft explained that the company annually brings hundreds of thousands of tons of engineering and drilling equipment, construction materials, and resources for the sustainment of oil production centres to autonomous oil fields by land and air transport.

The Tiber helicopter test was Gazprom Neft's third test of unmanned technologies in logistics.
